Carlton North, Melbourne VIC
From free to $60 10km run, a 5km run, or a 5km walk/roll

Get ready to run, walk or roll around Melbourne’s iconic Princes Park in Carlton on Sunday 11 August as ‘Run for Strength’, Muscular Dystrophy Australia’s annual event, rolls into Melbourne to support the 40,000 Australians living with a neuromuscular disease.

Runners, walkers, or those who use wheels to get around can choose from a 10km run, a 5km run, or a 5km walk/roll and support Muscular Dystrophy Australia’s vision of a world without neuromuscular disease.

Join race-day ambassador, Australian Champion Marathon Runner and Olympian Steve Moneghetti, who says “running brings so much joy and freedom, but ‘Run for Strength’ is more than that - it’s a celebration of solidarity. By participating, we're supporting those who face the daily challenges of living with neuromuscular disease. So, gather your friends and family for a great day out, and let’s run together to make a real difference!”

Those who cannot make the Melbourne event or who live interstate, can also complete ‘Run for Strength’ as a virtual challenge, or can sponsor an individual participant or team.

Event highlights include a Family Entertainment Precinct featuring:

- Coffee and delicious pastries

- Face painting by Face Creations

- ‘Love me like a Reptile’ meet and greets where kids can hold a snake or pat a lizard

- Food trucks including Falafel off the Truck and Bahn Mi Brother

- DJ to pump up the vibe!

Steve Moneghetti will also be on hand to meet participants, kick off each run, walk and roll, provide his expert running tips, and hand out medals to race-day winners.

’Run for Strength’ is Muscular Dystrophy Australia’s biggest campaign for the year, shining a light on the prevalence of neuromuscular disease in Australia, which affects 1 in 650 Australians. The funds raised will support those living with neuromuscular conditions and fund research to stem disease progression.

Rally your besties, family, and even your furry friends! Join Muscular Dystrophy Australia for Run for Strength and make a difference on Sunday 11 August. Registrations kick off at 9am, with the 10km run commencing at 9.45am. The full day’s program, and further information including tickets, can be found at https://run-for-strength-2024.raisely.com/
