The Avon Descent is a 2 day, 124km race open to paddlecraft and powerboats from Northam to Bayswater in Western Australia. The event can be competed as part of a single, double or a relay team, with conditions ranging from long stretches of flat water through to white water rapids. The race passes through some of Western Australia’s most picturesque country, passing through farming regions, forested national parks, steep gorges, the Swan Valley vineyard region and eventually, into the tidal waters of the Upper Swan River.
