The Coogee Island Challenge ocean swim 'Autumn' edition event incudes the 2.4km Island Challenge which circumnavigates Wedding Cake Island, a 1km 'Splash and Dash' option and an 800m Junior Dash. Coogee Bay is protected by headlands to the south and north and also by Wedding Cake Island that sits offshore. For swimmers taking on the 2.4km Island Challenge, conditions around Wedding Cake Island can be a little choppy and challenging.
